You can participate through your school, if your school is participating or you can participate on your own as well. If your school is participating, then contact your school coordinator and he/she will help you in participation.
If your participating on your own, following are the steps to participate in NSC:
Everything in NSC is Online, from registration, enrollment, test, results to the project submission. For anything you will have to login to this website and take action.
Step 1 is register yourself on this website.
Register
This is free. It does not mean you are participating in the competition. To participate you will have to enroll after logging in.
Once you complete your registration, you will receive your password on your mobile phone. Login using your mobile number or email id as userid and password as received on your sms.
After logging in, you will see your NSC Dashboard. It will have all the information you need for NSC participation.
There are two levels in NSC. Level I is an online Test and Level II is a project round. To know more about levels, Click Here.
Enroll for Level I by clicking "Enroll Now" on the Dashboard. There is a fee of Rs 150 to participate in Level I. You can pay online or for other modes of payment, Click Here

There are three groups and two zones. You participate in your zone and in your group.
Two zones are
North
South
There are three groups
Pegasus - Class VI & VII
Phoenix - Class VIII & IX
Unicorn - Class X, XI & XII
Top 60% from each group/zone, qualifies for Level II.
If you have qualified for Level II and to further participate in the competition, you will have to enroll for Level II. Process is same as enrolling for Level I. There is a fee of Rs 250 to participate in Level II.
Level II is a project round. We will give you a list of topics on which you can create your project or you can submit your own topic as well.
Top 30 students from each group will be taken to a Summer Science Camp, which will be free of cost for the winners. It will be a 5-6 days residential camp.
